Students from the Shades Valley Theatre Academy participated at the State Trumbauer Festival this past weekend at Troy University. Their production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown was one of only fourteen shows that qualified for the state one-act competition and Elliot Cleverdon, Savannah Hudson, Justin Kirkpatrick, and Tray Wright were all named to the All-Star Cast. The show was directed and choreographed by senior student Nicholas Burroughs. The remaining cast members were Patrick May and Joy Walls. The stage manager was Laura Beth Cannon and the costume designer was Grayson Cusimano.
Katherine Wesler won one of three $1,000 scholarships that are awarded by the Alabama Conference of Theatre to senior students who audition. The students who placed in their individual events are as follows:
